Weaved with tradition methods using Modern unwanted waste, this table centre piece is crafted from discarded ethernet cables that have missing or damaged filaments and intertwined with thrown out wool from an alterations company. This piece upcycles the ideas of networking and farbricating, and Metaphorically its is used as a centre piece to display a connection between people and a celebration in the sincerity of sharing.
I quit like the way how you wave your wires together and make your product looks so elegant.
ReplyDeleteWELL DONE.^_^
I just wonder are wires suitable for containing food? Aren't they toxic?
I like your idea to transform cables into a basket fruit bowl, using modern materials to make a traditional product. It's creative and very well waved.
ReplyDeleteDoes it come in different colours?
Nice one. Using cable to make a fruit basket will mean that it's strong enough to hold quite a lot of fruits in it. Also usually cables gives you a messy interpretation, but this fruit basket really eliminates that messiness and turned it into something that's aesthetically pleasing and useful.
ReplyDeleteThe basket looks good and beautiful. It took good use of the cables' strong ability of holding thing. My concern is that if cable is suitable for food?
ReplyDeleteI like how this has turned out with the time we had and after working on my own project I realised just how time consuming weaving can be. In my opinion this product could be vastly improved just by experimenting with different weaving patterns and by tidying up the loose edges.
